Mission and Objectives

Core Mission

The Jean Monnet Module EU Competition Law and Digital Market aims to endow students with a profound comprehension of European law and its profound impact on the Albanian Legal system. The overarching objective of this module is to examine the muscular intervention of the Digital Market Act to restore competition in the digital markets. Through critical analyses and new teaching methodologies, the module will explore the interaction between EU competition law and the digital market and discuss recent ongoing cases of NCAs at EU Member States against potential gatekeepers.

Overarching Objective

The overarching objective of the module is to analyse the application of EU competition rules in the digital market. To achieve this overarching objective, the Jean Monnet Module foresee the following sub-goals:

1

considers the provisions and implications of the Digital Markets Act, which imposes a series of prescriptive ex-ante obligations on large digital gatekeepers.

2

explore the interaction between EU competition law and the digital market

3

discuss the competition dynamic that typically arises from digital markets

4

discuss recent or ongoing cases of NCAs at EU Member States against potential gatekeepers

5
